At Majer Metal Works in Baltimore, I had the pleasure of photographing the talented team that brings metal to life through staff headshots. These staff headshots go beyond standard corporate photos, capturing the unique personalities and passion of each artisan. The goal was to showcase not just their faces but also the spirit and dedication they bring to their craft.

The Joy of Capturing Workplace Headshots

It was a rewarding experience to take pictures of the staff at Majer Metal Works. Each headshot allowed me to capture the human spirit and the pride that comes from mastering a craft. These portraits highlight the confidence and resilience of each team member. They reflect not only their professional skills but also their individual characters, ultimately creating a vivid picture of the people behind the work.

Essential Gear for Crafting Artisan Portraits

To achieve these stunning portraits, I relied on high-quality gear:

  • Canon EOS 5D Mark III: This camera delivers outstanding image quality, perfect for capturing the fine details in headshots.
  • EF 35mm f/1.4L USM Lens: This lens is ideal for isolating each artisan against the workshop backdrop, with sharp focus and beautiful bokeh that enhances every shot.

Using this setup, I captured not just headshots but stories. Each photo reflects the craftsmanship and creativity that define Majer Metal Works. These images testify to the team’s talent and dedication. They make their personalities shine as brightly as their work. See other work and collection for Majer Metal Works.

“His kind directness makes working with him so easy.”

Working with Jiho is an unique experience. He is an extremely engaged photographer, and he works very hard to capture the most compelling images that a particular subject might provide. He doesn’t hold back, but he is also very particular, resulting in images with both quality and dynamism. His work ethic is impressive, and his care in treating people never falters. In addition to shooting images of work in our studio, he has taken images of completed work both after and during installation. In all circumstances, he has successfully engaged the people in the environment, making the process of shooting a difficult object in a busy place a special event rather than an imposition, and the results are visible in the quality of his work.

I would recommend Jiho for any project—his attention to the subject is just as careful when shooting a person, an inanimate object, or even a pile of tools in a messy studio. His kind directness makes working with him so easy.
