I recently took pictures of a private student recital for Miss Emily Violin Studio. The event showed how dedicated and passionate a young musician is. The recital was held in the student’s home, so it felt very private and personal. The music really stood out. This special event celebrated the student’s hard work and the big progress they’ve made on their musical journey.
My Experience Capturing the Recital
Photographing this recital in the comfort of the student’s home was a unique and rewarding experience. The familiar surroundings made the event feel more welcoming and real. This made the music feel even more personal and sincere. Being in such an intimate setting allowed me to focus on capturing the emotions and nuances of the performance, from the concentration on the student’s face to the pride in the eyes of their family. Every moment felt important, and I was happy to keep these memories through my camera.
Gear Used for the Session
To ensure that every detail of this special recital was captured perfectly, I used the following photography gear:
- Canon EOS 5D Mark III: A reliable full-frame camera known for its excellent image quality, especially in low-light settings.
- Canon EOS 7D: A versatile camera with fast autofocus, ideal for capturing dynamic moments.
- EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM: A fisheye lens that provided creative wide-angle shots, adding a unique perspective to the images.
- EF 35mm f/1.4L USM: A prime lens with a wide aperture, perfect for capturing sharp, detailed images with beautiful background bokeh.
- EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM: A telephoto zoom lens that allowed me to capture close-up details and emotions from a distance.
This combination of gear enabled me to document the recital in a way that truly reflects the passion and dedication of the student, as well as the supportive environment fostered by Miss Emily Violin Studio.
