I recently had the opportunity to photograph the interior of RK&K’s newly relocated headquarters in Baltimore. This project was a collaboration between Majer Metal Works and the talented designers from Arris Design and QWRK Collective Environments. The goal was to highlight the industrial elements that define the space. These include custom steel sliding doors, floating steel wall panels, a 6’x8’ (183 x 244 cm) steel and glass pivot door, and a feature wall made from highway guard rails. A 18-foot (548 cm) conference table, crafted from walnut and galvanized steel, served as the centerpiece. It embodies the firm’s connection to structural engineering and industrial design.
The Joy of Capturing These Photos
Photographing this interior was a truly rewarding experience. The space is a mix of rough, industrial style and fancy design. Each part, from the steel doors to the main wall, reveals the craftsmanship and authenticity behind this unique space. While capturing the details, I aimed to showcase not just the physical features but also the atmosphere they create. This space reflects RK&K’s identity and commitment to quality. The joy of photographing such a meticulously designed interior comes from highlighting how each material and design choice shapes the overall feel of the workplace.

Photographing the interior of RK&K’s headquarters required gear that could handle the complexity and detail of the industrial design. I relied on a trusted setup that allowed me to capture everything from the broad architectural elements to the finer details of the craftsmanship.

Working with Jiho is an unique experience. He is an extremely engaged photographer, and he works very hard to capture the most compelling images that a particular subject might provide.
