As our journey in Rome, Italy, drew to a close, we found ourselves on the last day before departure, filled with a mix of excitement and nostalgia. With so much left to explore, eat, and experience, we knew we had to make the most of every moment in this enchanting city. Rome, why do you have to be so incredible? With countless options at our disposal, we decided to focus on a few special places, knowing that we’d have to return someday to uncover the rest.

Navigating the Bustle of Rome’s Public Transportation

We’d heard stories about how crowded Rome’s public transportation could be, but nothing quite prepared us for the reality of it. It was a true squeeze, with people packed in like sardines. But amidst the chaos, there was laughter and a sense of camaraderie. My travel companion, Chungwon, was a trooper—finding joy and humor in the situation. It’s in moments like these that a fisheye lens comes in handy, capturing the chaotic beauty of the scene. Chungwon’s positive outlook made her one of my favorite travel companions, always ready to fist-bump through the most challenging situations.

The Last Supper: A Culinary Farewell

Throughout our trip, we spent a significant portion of our budget on food, and every euro was well worth it. Each bite offered a glimpse into the heart of Italian culture, with flavors as vibrant as the colors of a sunset and aromas that were pure symphonies. Surprisingly, despite indulging in so much delicious cuisine, we actually lost weight! I attribute this to the wholesome, unprocessed ingredients, and the sheer amount of walking we did each day—truly the essence of a good life.

For our final meal in Rome, we stumbled upon a hidden gem: Nipotino del Solitario. Tucked away on a quiet side street, this small restaurant provided a culinary experience we’ll never forget. Every dish was a festival of flavor, and the tiramisu… oh, the tiramisu! It was like a roundhouse kick from Chuck Norris himself—absolutely the best dessert we had in Rome, hands down.

Grazie Mille, Rome!

As we packed our bags and prepared to say goodbye to Rome, we couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. Every aspect of our stay had been delightful—from the warm and friendly locals to the refreshing fountains scattered throughout the city, and of course, the incredible food that made every meal a celebration.

Rome, you have carved out a special place in our hearts. The memories we’ve made here will stay with us forever, and we’re already dreaming of the day we’ll return to uncover even more of your endless wonders. Grazie mille, Rome—we’ll miss you dearly, but we’ll see you again.
