FAQ
Why does the photographer keep the copyright to the photos?
This means the photographer is recognized as the legal creator of the original images. Copyright ensures the photos cannot be resold, altered, or used by third parties without permission. This standard practice across the industry protects the creative quality, consistency, and authenticity of each session.
Copyright ownership does not limit the client’s ability to use or enjoy their photos. It simply safeguards the original files under the photographer’s name as the creator.
Can I Use My Photos However I Want? (Perpetual, Non-Exclusive License)
Yes—you’re granted a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use all the final, edited images from your session. This means you have full freedom to:
✅ Share your photos online (social media, websites, blogs)
✅ Print and display them at home or in your business
✅ Use them in marketing, newsletters, or portfolios
There are no recurring fees, no usage restrictions for everyday needs, and no permission needed each time you use them.
The only restriction is resale or third-party commercial licensing. If another company or brand wants to use the images, we’ll just need written permission first.
You’re free to enjoy and share your photos exactly how you imagined—no surprises, no fine print.
Do I Get All the Photos from the Session? (Final Product Only)
Only the final, professionally edited images are delivered. This is a standard practice across the photography industry and ensures clients receive a curated, high-quality collection without the burden of sorting through hundreds of images.
Photos that are unintentional, test shots, near-duplicates, or behind-the-scenes captures are not included in the final gallery. These images are excluded to maintain a cohesive visual story and to reflect only the strongest, most meaningful moments from the session.
The goal is to simplify the experience and provide a finished product that’s ready to enjoy, share, and print—without requiring extra decision-making or editing from the client.
