Some shoots just feel right from the start. That’s exactly how it was with Alex and Gabby at Arboretum at Constitution Park. We met up around 5:30 p.m., just as that golden-hour glow started to settle in. Sunset was at 6:30 p.m., so we had the perfect amount of time to capture something beautiful—nothing rushed, just real moments.
South Florida’s nature is peaceful yet vibrant, and I strive to capture that essence in these photos. The arboretum, with its towering trees and lush greenery, wasn’t just a backdrop; it became part of their story. Alex and Gabby moved naturally, sharing warm glances and expressions, and it was clear they were completely in the moment. My job was simple—capture what was already there.
My Favorite Shot
Alex and Gabby standing beneath a rustic wooden pavilion, surrounded by lush greenery . The way they looked at each other, framed by the natural beauty around them, made the moment feel timeless and pure. In these moments, photography feels less like work and more like witnessing something special.
Camera Gear
For this session, I used the Canon EOS R8, paired with the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM and the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens with the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. The EF lens adapted beautifully, keeping everything smooth and natural. But the RF 70-200mm—that lens is something else. Incredibly sharp, it gave their portraits an almost cinematic depth, allowing me to focus on their emotions while softly blurring the world behind them.
Computational Photography
AI-assisted tools helped refine color balance, improve geometric accuracy, and emphasize a more pronounced shallow depth of field. While the lens naturally provided beautiful bokeh, I used these enhancements to fine-tune the final look, ensuring each image felt immersive and visually striking.
