Every now and then, an event comes along that just radiates good energy. That’s exactly what happened at Cazbar in Baltimore, where I had the chance to capture Donavon (owner of Body by Donavon) and Debbie celebrating in a space filled with music, movement, and flavor. From the first photo to the last, the vibe was fun, warm, and full of joy.
Cazbar is known for its vibrant atmosphere, and this night did not disappoint. The food and drinks? Always on point. Guests were relaxed and having a great time, which made capturing real, candid moments that much easier. People mingled, laughed, and toasted, while the pulse of music kept the space alive.
The highlight? Absolutely the belly dancers. They moved like fire wrapped in silk—graceful, bold, and full of energy. Their presence lit up the room, creating visual trails of motion that danced between tables like blooming petals caught in a breeze. It was a photographer’s dream: dramatic lighting, bold colors, and movement that told its own story.
Gear and Shooting Experience
For this event, I shot with the Canon EOS 7D, paired with the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM. This lens was perfect for capturing wide scenes in a packed space without losing detail. Paired with the Speedlite 580EX II, I was able to light up faces, freeze movement, and highlight the room’s ambiance without overpowering it.
