Majer Metal Works recently completed an impressive project in Baltimore, fabricating a breathtaking feature stair for The Baltimore Arts Realty Corporation (BARCO). This stunning structure stands 100 inches tall, 156 inches long, and 72 inches wide. It showcases the perfect blend of art and craftsmanship that defines Majer Metal Works.
The Intersection of Art and Interior Architecture
Lucas Associates Architects designed the feature stair to embody innovative interior architecture. The combination of ash, maple, and steel creates a beautiful piece that enhances the BARCO lobby’s aesthetic. They carefully chose each material to match the modern design. Wood adds warmth, while steel provides strength. Majer Metal Works focused on every detail, ensuring the stair met the design’s requirements and became a central art piece in the building.
Craftsmanship Captured in Detail
A photographer used the Canon EOS 5D Mark III with EF lenses to capture the project’s intricate details. They documented every aspect of the stair’s complex design. The photos highlight the craftsmanship involved, showing how smoothly the materials transition and how flawlessly the stair’s structure is executed. This project clearly demonstrates how Majer Metal Works consistently merges technical expertise with artistic vision, delivering exceptional results in interior architecture.

“His kind directness makes working with him so easy.”
Working with Jiho is an unique experience. He is an extremely engaged photographer, and he works very hard to capture the most compelling images that a particular subject might provide. He doesn’t hold back, but he is also very particular, resulting in images with both quality and dynamism. His work ethic is impressive, and his care in treating people never falters. In addition to shooting images of work in our studio, he has taken images of completed work both after and during installation. In all circumstances, he has successfully engaged the people in the environment, making the process of shooting a difficult object in a busy place a special event rather than an imposition, and the results are visible in the quality of his work.
I would recommend Jiho for any project—his attention to the subject is just as careful when shooting a person, an inanimate object, or even a pile of tools in a messy studio. His kind directness makes working with him so easy.
