This Thanksgiving, my family visited Florida for the first time. It was a heartwarming experience to welcome them here and meet Ruth’s family too. Spending time together was a joy, and we explored Florida’s diverse flavors and vibrant culture.

We started our culinary journey with Peruvian food from Kousine—a burst of bold flavors. Colombian coffee from Columbia Coffee House followed, adding a rich aroma to our mornings. A traditional Colombian meal from El Atico Restaurant brought a taste of home, while pizza from Pizza Rox hit the spot for everyone. Jamaican catering from Chef Rose Jamaican Cuisine was another highlight, offering vibrant and flavorful dishes that everyone loved.

A big big thanks to Paul for bringing us all together and hosting such a wonderful celebration in his home. His generosity made it possible for us to share meals, connect, and enjoy each other’s company under one roof. For some, it was a first encounter with new flavors; for others, it was about indulging in the familiar. Watching our family enjoy themselves—whether savoring something new or reminiscing over familiar dishes—felt like a true blessing.

We also made time to enjoy a day on the beach, soaking in the salty breeze, feeling the warmth of the sun, and listening to the calming waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Driving up the scenic A1A Coastal Highway was another highlight, offering breathtaking views of the coastline and the charm of South Florida. A peaceful stroll through an eco-park gave us the chance to reconnect with nature and with each other. These moments reminded me of how much I value time spent with my family. Their warmth, grounded personalities, and presence made the visit truly special.

Florida, particularly South Florida, has grown on me. From its natural beauty to its urban vibrance and the vast Atlantic Ocean, this place offers something unique. Seeing our family enjoy it all—living in the moment—was a gift.

Capturing the Memories

iPhone 15 Pro

These photos were taken with my iPhone 15 Pro. Under the right lighting conditions, this device captures incredible detail. It’s quick, versatile, and reliable—perfect for documenting moments on the go. See the photos.

Canon EOS R8 with RF 70-200mm Lens

This camera brings sharpness to a whole new level. I previously used the Canon 5D Mark III, which I loved, but the EOS R8 elevates everything. From speed to edge clarity, it delivers breathtaking results. See the photos.

iPhone 11

Even with an older model, great photography is about the moment, not just the gear. Bright light photos still shine, though low-light struggles a bit. I’d take a precious moment in lower quality over missing it entirely. It’s all about capturing the spirit of the memory. See the photos.

Grateful For This Moment

Photography isn’t just about snapping pictures; it’s about preserving the intention and spirit of a moment. These moments remind me of life’s simple joys and inspire me to work harder to create more of them for myself and my loved ones. Time spent together, savoring experiences, and cherishing each other—these are the treasures I’ll always hold dear.
